SICKO MATH #001 · August 31, 2026
THE QUESTION
How many gallons of semen are disposed of in condoms every year?
The annual condom semen disposal estimate
THE DISGUSTING NUMBER
12,521,755 U.S. gal/year
Answer basis: 2015 MODEL / YEAR
Metric: 47,400,000 liters per modeled year
WHAT THAT MEANS IN REGULAR ENGLISH
No lab coat required.
Using a peer-reviewed estimate of 15.8 billion condoms used in 81 countries in 2015, the math comes to about 12.5 million U.S. gallons of semen per modeled year if every condom caught and retained one median-volume sample. That last condition is an assumption, not an observed fact.
HOW WE DID THE MATH
Multiply the modeled annual use of 15.8 billion condoms by the fertile-men reference median of 0.1 fl oz (3.0 mL) per semen sample. That produces 47.4 million liters per modeled year, which converts to about 12.5 million U.S. gallons.

MORE SOURCE-BACKED FACTS
The rabbit hole continues.
Of the modeled 15.8 billion condoms used in 2015, 8.3 billion were assigned to family planning.

Source: PLOS ONE ↗The fertile-men reference table reports a median semen volume of 0.1 U.S. fluid ounce (3.0 mL).

Source: Andrology ↗ASSUMPTIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This is a conditional model, not a measured disposal total. The 15.8 billion annual-use estimate covers 81 countries in 2015. The calculation assumes every estimated condom was used once, caught one full 0.1 fl oz (3.0 mL) median-volume semen sample, and was discarded with all of it still inside. Condoms used without ejaculation, unused condoms, leakage, and emptied contents make the real discarded volume unknowable from these sources.

U.S. RESULT: 12,521,755 U.S. gal/year METRIC: 47,400,000 liters per modeled year SICKO MATH #001 🤢🧮 A peer-reviewed model estimated 15.8 billion condoms used across 81 countries in 2015. If every one caught one 0.1 fl oz (0.1 fl oz (3.0 mL)) median-volume semen sample and was discarded with it inside: 15,800,000,000 × 0.1 fl oz (0.1 fl oz (3.0 mL)) = about 12,521,755 U.S. gallons (12,521,755 U.S. gal (47,400,000 liters)) per modeled year. That is a conditional estimate, not a measured worldwide disposal total. The numbers nobody asked us to calculate.
